Default Phoenix clarification

What exactly is the CDI, and is there any way to adjust it? Will the CDI from the 2006 work with the 2005, and would it make any difference in performance?

CDI stands for Capacitor Discharge Ignition. The CDI from a Phoenix is not adjustable. The CDI from an 06 will not work on an 05. I had heard that they changed the RPM range on 06, but can no longer verify that information. Polaris started using their own throttle housing on the new models. The wiring changed just a bit so now the 06 won't be an exact swap. The do swap, but you would have to leave the reverse limiter unhooked. Polaris did change the final drive ratio in the transmission in the 06 to make it higher geared to keep it from hitting the rev limiter so quickly.
