Default THECVMAN ??

Im new to this forum, but I am looking for thecvman? i htink thats his handle?
I was told he could give me good advice about changing a rear CV joint.. hes the man to talk to is what Ive heard.

I am very limited in my mechanical skills as this is the first ATV ive owned and I did not grow up riding these things, and we never had a garage to work on them before, soooo.. Trying to avoid dealer costs, I would like to make this a "father/son in the garage" type of deal. We have the tools, but between dad and I, we are pretty unfamiliar with CVs and replacing or repairing one (not sure whats even wrong with it yet, but Ive narrowed it down to a CV in the rear). Ive got a loud clicking noise every so often in the rear of my bike (at least i think its the rear). Just noticed this past weekend. all the boots are fine, but I watched as some fellas i ride with changed one of the boots in the rear a couple weekends ago (it was busted). i watched, in hopes of learning some things...

anways, where is this "thecvman" ?? any help?

Oh, and the bike is an 05 Polaris Sportsman 700EFI with 2" lift (thinking that its got to go though!! costing too much $$ in repairs) and with several other mods.

if your boots are not torn it is most likely some bad rear wheel bearings. one way to check and see if that is what it is, is to ride it 2 or 3 miles and when you get back touch the rear wheel hub. if it is hot thats your problem.

thanks, but actually we just changed those at the same time we changed the torn boot in the rear. Rear wheel bearings are brand new.
