White smoke

White smoke
Hello Guys!
Reading the archives about this, I figured "head gasket problem".
Old gasket leaked down from 120# to about 90; so we changed to a new gasket.
Two of the head studs were loose; they came off with the cap nuts.
The old head gasket was not bad, at least to my inspection.
Dragging a straight-edge across the head, it looked perfect.
We had the new head gasket, so put it on.
Having had reinstalled the studs, torqued the cap nuts in opposing sequence, then snugged em, and then
torqued to 18 foot lbs, 116 inch pounds.
Compression was 125, and held at 120
Piston head was a bit black
Anyway, seems like we still have white smoke; although I haven't driven the 6x6 to much yet.
Maybe there is residue in the pipe from anti-freeze?
Or, what other causes can there be for white smoke?
thanks,
Lester
