400- wanna go faster. Getin' frustrated
I totally agree with Bubba...tracks are different so therefore times are different. I could easily see my bike running a 4.7 with the setup it has now. That is just with tuning the carb. Have I ever seen another polaris pull like mine..no, but I know there are others out there. I have seen some very good running bikes, but not all of them were setup for drag. I was running 15-31 gearing, and there arent many bike that would pull that and still turn those times. Maybe you could try taller gearing. I have seen a lot of setups with 15-34 or 14-34, but that didnt work well for me. There are so many variations. I think if you can stall around 5500 it would be ideal, but who knows. Mine only left at 3800 when i ran the 4.83. The guy that bought the bike from me put the ignition, new fuel pump and changed the spring. I could definitely see dropping some time, but I guess we will have to see.

Thanks fellas for all the great replies. The track where I run is dirt. Not hard pack, tilled up, sort of an orange, clay base with a little sand. They keep it really wet. When I went this summer I was at around 4400 stall. And I was geared at 14-36. I tried 14-34 and it seemed a little slower but I only made one pass with the 34t. Since this summer, I have tucked the s58s to match the 10-58s and got my stall up around 4800. And I have also changed my fuel mix from 26:1 to 32:1. I think im gonna take a 32 rear and a 15 front, and try a much higher gear ratio. My motor wasnt over revving, so I dont think I was shifting out soon, but iduno. Me on the quad weigh around 445lbs.
Dont get me wrong here, when I made my first pass and saw that it was under 5 sec I was VERY happy to say the least.
I guess I just dont like the thought of being "maxed out" This quad has sentimental value. (sniff)
I am leaving on sat for the track, (Newtown VA) so Ill be posting sun or mon.

Well I have contacted the new owner of the bike and he is supposed to scan me the timeslips of the 4.59 run and the others. I will post them whenever I see them. I am not sure what track he is running at, but it is in VA and he is going to little sandy to run and he will give me times from there.

The best time I could get out of it this time around, was a 5.006. Dont know why, maybe cause it was cold and damp.
Im gonna blame it on the pin hole in my exhaust port spitting antifreze in to my motor.
Didnt try any gear changes- tire pressures or anything. Guess I'll freshin up things and try again in the spring.
Oh yea, I did finish like 6th out of 130 bikes. Won me a whole 20 bucks!
