Default Looking to buy 06 Scrambler

I'm very interested in the '06 Polaris Scrambler, I want somthing in a 4 x 4 but Sport look and feel.
I recently bought a new house and discovered tons of trails that lead right out of the back of my yard, so obvously I'll be doing mostly trail riding.
Is their any other ATV's that compare to this ride?
I'm 6'0 and weigh 225, this will be my first ATV.

Any negitive or positive feedback would be greatly appreciated.

The closest things to compare would be the Yamaha Wolverine and the Kawasaki 650 Brute Force(solid rear axle) If you need a sporty 4x4, the Scrambler is probably the best bet though. Make sure to get permission to ride those trails!

I hope it's ok to ride on these trails, I do hear other ATV's and Dirt Bikes out there.
I went for a hike soon after I bought my house and noticed a bunch of signs indicating that Snowmobiling was permitted on these trails.
There is an old Ski hill (Methuen Ski Tow) that also has a bunch of trails.

How can I make sure these trails are legal to ride on?

I have one with about 400 miles and I'm quite happy with it. Had a Sportsman 700 EFI that gave me a lot of problems so that I got fed up with it. The Scrambler is more fun to ride and gets its way in the mud and rough trails.

Look also for the Yamaha Wolverine.

i have a 04 and i'm really glad we bought the machine!

its' been working great and i've had no major problems and i ride the thing pretty hard too. the only other thing i would buy then the scrambler would be a predator or a outlaw which isnt released yet so looks like i'll just stick with my scrambler

the best way for you to find out about the trails is just to ask around if anything, some1 is bound to know who owns the property or if it's public land, what the laws are, just ask around, u'll find out soon enough

How are they in the snow, do I need different tires?

The land in back of my house is all State Conservation land, Snowmobiles are Permitteed but I don't know if ATV's are.
There are no signs stating ATV's or Dirtbikes are not allowed.

Cool thanks for the Feedback I think I'm sold!!!
I did a search on this site and found tons of cool posts about the Scrambler, this site rocks!!
I looked at the Yamaha Wolverine and it just doesn't appeal to me.

I'll take some pics after I pick it up.

I just bought a 05 scrambler, I have a few utility quads as well. just went out this weekend and I was more than impressed with this machine. I just put a white brothers e series on tonight as well as a jet kit, k&n filter. I can't wait till the weekend. I was a little unsure about Polris reliability, but I too did all the research and am not to worried. I test rode the new Wolverine, not half the machine this is. Good luck with the purchase.
