I have a Canon Powershot S400 and a Canon SD300 that I carry with me in a saddle bag around the gas tank of my Scrambler. It is pretty handy for getting quick shots when I need it. I usually only carry one at a time, depending on which one is charged and ready to go. I do keep them in a Ziplock bag inside the case to protect it from the sand and water. Never had any problems so far. I also take these cameras on vacations to the Caribbean each year and have not had any problems going back to the Canon S100 I bought about 4 years ago.

I think Olympus has a camera now that is "weather resistant", meaning it can handle a slight amount of sprinkles, but no go underwater.

Hey Jay,

I know a bit on digital cameras. How much do you want to spend, what mega pixles do you want and do you want an all in one camera or an SLR that you can change lenses from wide, telephoto, close up etc... One thing that I want to warn you about is dont go through the internet to find and purchase the cheapest name brand camera. Most of the internet sales are scams. Go to a reputable store like circuit city, best buy. The internet may seem like you are going to get a deal but it will turn out to be a huge headache.

I take the old HP 635 out on the trails. Was under 90 bucks, take good pictures, and I'm not all broken up if it gets dirty. Got a Kodak dx6490 for 250 dollars. That's the good one the stays back at the camp. Next thing to get is a digital video camera. That and some really good video editing software.

I did see that site and for most of the cameras they have, circuit city was still cheaper. Newegg has the canon digital rebel 8mp camera advertised for $899 and circuit city has it online for $829 and they also have no intrest financing for 16mo. Not sure on other electronics they have.

why would you need/finance a camera? its cheap enough to buy it outright. it worries me how much people rely on barrowing money at cost...

I was just saying that it was an option. And not all people have the cash right up front expecially younger people. It is a good way for some to build good credit. Dont forget the flash card, batteries, charger, and all the other accessories. It adds up. If you are looking to spend about 350 then you have alot of choices.

I've got both digital SLR camera's and P&S camera's....if you want to best camera for the money right now, get the Canon S2IS...

Its a 5 MP camera with a true movie capability @ 640x480 and 30 fps (frames per second)...

its pretty small and its Image Stabilized....you can also use the zoom in the movie mode and Image Stabilized....

It has a true 12X Optical Zoom...

just awesome camera, I rarely use my Canon 20D Digital SLR anymore...
