I finally got my pictures loaded, althought not the best quality, of my 98 400 Scrambler. You can see how 55+lbs were removed, relocated shifter, no floorboards, small battery etc.

Very nice job.
Looks more like a sports machine now!
I'm impressed by the gigantic front bumper..

Where did you get that grab bar from and about how much did you pay for it.

www.prmatv.com

I believe that particular rack is somewhere in the $60 range.

Interesting, doesn't your leg get hot without the pipe guard? Also did you remove the fan completely? If so, has it caused any over heating?

What are you using for the PVT vent, and where did you route it to?

Very nice ride!

Tell us, how does the overall ride compare to a stock or a lightly modified Scrambler? There are a lot of changes you made that are interesting...but are they all practical/reliable? Smaller tires, no fan or rad guard, PVT exaust, wider stance, struts, floorboards... it goes on and on!

Give us some details! Please

The PVT vent is bent downward between the carb & engine which is located a little lower than stock but I dont do deep water/mud anyway but even so I dont think it would be a problem anyway since the air is being blown out. The cross section of tubing plus necked down exit is all the same as stock. If it ever is a problem I'll route it higher since it's flexible tubing. My main problem has been water comming in the inlet or a small hole I had in the rubber couping between the white inlet tube & PVT hosing.

Crawldad, afer I removed the fan last spring, I used Red-Line water wetter w/o anifreeze all summer w/o any problems & had the reverse light wired up so that if the fan were to kick on the reverse light would lighten up. Any way, never once did it lighten up nor did the overheat light come on until I broke a hole in a radiator line, lost all my coolant then the dash was like a Christmas tree since both lights were on, first the fan light & next the overheat light. Now w/ the HPD cool head I'm really not worried about not having the fan at all since it never came on before it definatly wont be needed now plus the fan was heavy. I'm trying to lighten the front for jumping. I also installed the Pro-Design in line finned coolant heat exchanger shown in the front view to the upper left of the radiator. This is also suppose to lower temps by 5* but who really knows for sure. It's funny I thought my leg would get hotter too, but actually it's allot cooler. Before my leg was on the plastic which was red hot since it was on the pipe, now the alumn guard is always cool, since air is flowing all around it, plus alumn is great at heat transfer, plus it's not touching the pipe. So my legs much, much cooler. I suggest this to anyone unless you have small kids that could hit the exposed area of the pipe when riding.

Zorro, thanks. I took allot of matl from the bumper w/ all the extra row of holes & slots I put in it. I tried to make it different plus to remove weight, plus to weaken it. I want it to crumble when I hit something & the DG bumper in stock form looks too strong to me. It's cheap for me to buy another bumper instead of trying to straightn the frame or something else.
