Default lost key and have a couple questions

I havent had any quads stolen. I just think it STUPID, to give out info on how to hotwire a quad. Oh and by the way. I have this trailer that has a lock on it. lskrabut you have any good info on the fastest way to cut it off. See I lost the key to the lock.

Default lost key and have a couple questions

Wow, I didnt know I was gonna open up a can of worms with the switch bypass question....lol....I was just looking to see if it could be done to get me going the cheapest although I do plan to either get a new switch and keys or new keys made in the near future....the price on the new switch and keys is around 70 bucks, and its close to christmas if you know what I mean . But to put minds at ease, the 4 wheeler is mine but my son forgot to take the key out of the ignition after hunting and it had one of those neck key chains that has the plastic clip on it for quick release. Long story short, it evidently went flapping in the wind and flew off in the road some where. He by no means meant to do it and we all learn from out mistakes. Im certain he wont do it twice, he lives on the darn thing and it sittin in the shed unusable is killing him LOL. I appreciate all the replies and no, I dont take things on forums personally, so it's all good . This is a great forum and Its a great place to get help. Everyone have a Merry Christmas and thanks again!

No worries. And in case you don't realize now, it's always a good idea to keep a spare key in the house, or if you're like your son and I, on your person, just in case you have to ride right then .

You shouldnt have to defend yourself. If you ask me , watzupdog was way out of line by saying what he did.Everybody should be as perfect as him because apparently he has never lost anything.
If i myself was to have stolen a quad , it wouldnt bother me a bit to fork out the $70 for a new ignition switch.$70 bucks for a new quad.......what a deal. Now on the other hand , if i had to work for the money to buy it and had kids."christmas" etc. etc. a simple hotwire/toggle switch to save $70 would do just fine.

Check the above posts. Nobody asked you Jfejjffefejkffs. I never said I was perfect. Just that it was stupid to give out info on how to hotwire a quad. oopss gota go. Someone saying that there from my bank is on the phone wanting all my personal info. I guess I should give it to them. You know I would hate to think that there is any dishonest people out there.

I have to agree with watzupdog, I have had A quad stolen. And if the person's only way of not being able to use it was not having A key. Then hotwiring info would be helping the theif to have use of the Quad. Not saying that was the case here. But do feel that was not info that you share with just anyone that ask's A question.

Whats wrong with you people?
You guys are treating this as if were some SECRET ("rocket science").
Yes watzupdog i did "read the above posts" and not everyone shares your demented paranoia.
What if gahunter33 would have just asked for a wiring diagram? Would you have been as paranoid and ignorant about that?
And on top of everything else.....if he did steal it....why in the hell would he advertise it on the internet?????

Cut through the eyelet as opposed to the lock, its made out of softer material.

actually the best way is to drill the key hole. It's soft brass and will cut quick.

Seriously guys these are quads with minimal security. There is a key only to keep kids from just hopping on and riding.

Locks keep honest people honest.

NOW if they had lanyards with a Digital key like me seadoo I might hesitate to tell you how to bypass it. But even a moron can figure out how to bypass these lawnmower locks that are on quads.

5 min with a test light or 10 min playing with the wires.
