95 Xplorer 400 problems
#1
Hi,
I've got a '95 Xplorer 400 that has developed an interesting the problem. When the shifter is moved from neutral to high or low, the neutral light stays on I cannot get the bike into 4 wheel drive. I had the same problems a few years back, but a new battery seemed to fix the problem. I figured it was a coincidence, so I did not pursure it any further. Any ways, the problem is back and I cannot get the switch to come out of neutral even with a battery charger connected. The neutral switch goes off when I go to reverse, so I have 4WD in reverse. Does anyone have any ideas for me?
Problem number two is a starter starting to go out on me. Where is the best place to get a good replacement starter?
Thanks,
Jim

On the 95 you should have a switch on your shifter. It could be bad.
I could be wrong and the switch could be on your trans. Either way the switch is your problem.
It has been a while since I worked on a 95.

Your switch IS in the shifter. The best thing to do is find a complete shifter.A new switch is expensive from Polaris. The best place to find a shifter and a starter is Ebay.
