Default WINCH CONTACTOR

I have a question for anyone. i just installed my winch on my sp800 and it tells you to put the contactor in a clean dry space . i installed it where they tell you to under the right fender but really how clean and dry does it stay right there does anyone know how much abuse that contactor can handle can it not get wet at all?

thanks
Matt

I have a sp400 and I put mine in the box under the seat just because I have had my machine in mud and water up to the racks

I have an 05 700 and i couldnt find a good place to put mine. I thought about putting it in the rear compartment. but i didnt feel like drilling on the plastic. so i put mine in the front compartment where the coolant piece pops off.

I'm guessing you're talking about the solenoid. The only problem with mounting the solenoid under the fender and exposed to mud and water is that the terminals will eventually corrode. It's good to mount it in a place that will stay clean and dry but be prepared to regularly clean the terminals should you mount it elsewhere.
