Polaris 250 2 stroke
I need some advice. How does a Polairs 250 2wd 2 stroke perform in the sand? I have never owned a Polairs bike and I am looking for a good beginners bike for friends to ride. I like the idea that there is no shifting with the Polaris setup. We only ride in the sand and I want to be sure this bike can get up the sandy hills without problems. I am hoping to just put paddles on and ride it. Will I be happy with this bike? Do they hold up well? Low maintenance?
What should I pay for a good used one? Thank you.

Need to more know about how you ride......I mean....yeah its a good quad....but not real powerful......if you know to hit the big hills full throttle and get speed.....you should be ok.....might have to back down a few.....light paddles would help it out......that is for sure......

after breaking both of my other bikes I ended up riding the kids bike, a 97 250, with RCR pipe jet and K& N. I weigh 225, it will do 39.3(GPS) wide open on sand highway. It will not get up any big hill(not even close), I was able to get to the top of enything I wanted, just not the most direct way. It was quite a change parking the raptor, but I gotta admit it was kinda fun because of the challenge of route finding, and not shifting. I got to the top of the highest hill I could find at Gordons well. I did have paddles on the rear, get a good run at everything, don't get slow and you'll be fine.
