Does the Scrambler 400 have a reed valve? Thanks

 

As a scrambler 400 owner I think I can answer that with a yes. Your thinking of buying a scrambler are'nt you, all that talk about the high horsepower kits for scrambler 400's in my RAPTOR vs. SCRAMBLER 400 topic is making you get polaris fever.

Just a question.
Reed valve...is that intake or exhaust. I've been told that it's intake...so how do you call the variable exhaust openings in the cyl?

 

Thanks I wasn't sure because i knew that the trail blazer didn't but i wasn't sure about the 400, and yes i kinda like them now. The trails up here are kinda bad so i am second guessing the 400ex with either a Scrambler 400 4x4 or 500 4x4.

 

I would really go with the scrambler, the 400ex is likely to get stuck do to its racey transmission.
I have a scrambler 400 and the only time I got stuck is when I tried going through clay, I had a long walk home.LOL.
The scramblers are geared more towards ruff trail riding, wi'll the 400ex is a high performance race machine.
