Default Highlifter Lift Kit For '04 Polaris SP 700

I do not have ITP Wheels, yet. I just wanted to know after i install this kit, will / does it cause the tires to stick out, or not. Just curious. Merry Christmas.

Yes, the ITP rims will stick those 589's out an inch or two more than stock to give you the correct offset for bigger tires. Your Sportsman will look awesome with that set up.

Do you have your lift in yet? Just curious, thinking of doing the same.

Well Jon, I believe the correct install for the HL kit would be to remove the strut, then the strut cartridge and put the little 2 inch spacer under the cartridge and then the 2 inch spring spacer under the spring. This will give you true 2 inches of lift up front. Then going from 25 inch to 27 inch tire will give another inch of lift. So 3 inches of lift providing the 589's are truely 27 inches tall. About 15 inches of ground clearence, not bad.

It sounds like quite a job from front to back while trying to figure it out for the first time, but I'm determind to do it myself. I would do a search on "lift" in this section. There are photos of a guy grinding off material from the bottom of the strut housing to clear the CV boots. The results of the search will fill you in on the pros and cons of a lift.

Good luck tomorrow. I hope you and yours had a Merry Christmas, we made it home safely after a day of eating turkey and ham with the inlaws and outlaws.

Hey JonJon, just incase you haven't purchased your ITP wheels and tires, I have a set of 27" 589's and ITP type 4 wheels I had on for one ride before I decided I wanted the Outlaws instead. I'm in central Alabama so we could meet up if you wanted to buy them. I'm not sure where Summerdale is at. You can see pictures of them in my pics. Let me know.

Yeah Sure thing Andre.. ill keep you filled in on everything. Just check this forum and ill update you. I do not have my Type 5 C-Series Wheels Yet, they may be coming in a week or so. Is it a bad idea to go ahead and put the lift on without the Type 5's? Also one of my best friends is a liscensed mechanic, they also have installed their own lifts, snorkels, jet kits, Exhausts, etc... So i may get them to help me out with it.
Yes im pretty full myself. So much Turkey and Chicken, etc.
Have a Merry Christmas.. Dont seem to hear that often enough anymore
