Changing seal in rear break caliper?
#1
I had a bearing go out on the rear end of my 2000 Trailboss 325. This made the brake disk ride too far to one side and I think it allowed the caliper that runs off the foot pedal to come too far out. I pushed the piston back in but now it leaks when you use the foot pedal. I know on some cars they have seals in side them that can be changed but is it the same for this atv caliper?

Yes the seals can be replaced. If it like my scrambler you have one o ring between the two halves and two seals large and small to seal the two diameters of both pistons. Pretty easy to replace and cost from polaris is about 15-18 dollars depebding on the kit. Bring the old seals with you as my scrammy showed two different kits available. My rear bearing came apart also but it damaged the caliper half and ground into the piston. It was cheaper fo me to buy and rebuild a caliper off of ebay.

You don't by any chance have the part numbers of the bearings do you? The reason I ask is because my local Polaris dealer won't be open till Wednesday and I'm afraid if I wait that long that they'll end up having to order some of the parts.. race, spacers and whatnot. So I called another salvage type dealer and he told me he was sure he probably would have them but he needed the part numbers to compare off of.
