anyone got a X2 model yet ?

I spoke with my local Polaris dealer last night and he indicated that it would be March before the X2s are out. I am looking for a two up atv and am considering the AC TRV and the Bombardier 650 or 800 Max. I would love to see the X2 before I buy so I can evaluate all of these. I have a Sportsman 500 now and have been satisfied. I like the increased rear rack capability of the X2. Any thoughs on any of these machines?

I have been looking at both the TRV and the X2..One thing about the TRV is that it doesn't have the front wheel locker..not good ..
but the TVR's rear seat is raised which allows the person on back to see over the drivers head..also the racks have a quick connect systen which alows you to add all kinds of attachments to the racks easily..But the TRV is carburated the Polaris has fuel injection..which should be better...This is the frist year for it and it may have a few bugs to work out.
I have 2001 SP 500 and am happy with it..no problems so far..My brother just bought a TRV so I will know more as we ge to ride together

I never thought about the rear seat being raised on the TRV. That is a very nice feature. The thing that I don't like about the TRV is that you have to remove the rear seat to have a rear rack. Do you know if you can get a rack to work with the rear seat in place? I have heard only good things about the AC. The Bomb Max is nice because it has a rear rack like the X2 and I believe the rear seat is raised like the TRV, which I never really thought about until you mentioned it. The problem with the Max (either the 650 or 800) is the extra $s. It is hard to justify that extra expense.

My dealer is expecting an X2 in the next week or so. It has been shipped form the factory but with Holidays and etc, he expects it to be slow in arriving. I have also looked at the trv and the bomb products. Not front locker on the AC. AC does have a few items for the trv. Cargo box that turns your trv into a pickup truck. 0436-827 399.95. Also Rear rack 0436-798 259.95.
Those prices seem high tp me. The pickup box is blown plastic. I also like the accessories that just plug in. The X2 seat fold down into its own box. The X2 will also carry 400 pounds of rear cargo. I like AC products but I do not want to spend 600 dollars for two accessories I feel are needed. I can order a winch and have money extra. The dealer also has a new set of Carlile radials on polished mags he will basically give me to sweeten the deal on the X2. Very nice looking. Rotax motors are proven through Polaris and experimental aviation. Also a plus for fuel injection. I too noticed the X2 sits the passenger lower as opposed to Trv raised platform. If my wife need to be elevated I will purchase her A gel-cel insert as are used on motorcycles. I rode my bike to Sturgis and back this year(3000 miles in all) and the ge-cel in amazing! I still want to see the 650 cc bomb. I think the 800 is overly priced, though.
I put a deposit on the X2 yesterday and I now have the right of first refusal. If I am disapointed when it arrives. I hope I am not. I will refuse if but I haope to purchase it the day it arrives. Either way when it arrives I will post my opinions on this site.
Good luck in your search and please tell me if you recieve any information I might need.

Hi all, I also was considering the x2 but I got the AC as you can see I have polaris and arctic cats and I have not had a problem with anyone of them but one thing that I looked away from on the x2 is that it may have the over heat problem that the new 500 efi has seeing it is the same powerplant in a streched frame I think, but for what they want for a bomb I can get a sidebyside and thats what I also looked into and I got the new Prowler also the 500 TRV has a better tranny setup with the wet cluch system always engaged no ajusting or burning belts. For the polaris there could be some belt issues and ajusting just my thoughts, Doug

Hey Doug, You are correct about the heating problem! I talked in length with the Polaris dealed regarding this problem. He said the problem was cured(fan switch was drawing too many amps) and assured me I would NOT have this problem with X2. I posted a note on this site and asked all the people with last years heating problems for an update. 2150 people read the report and about 250 people complained. I received no replies. That tells me the problem was only worth whining about. I assume all are now happy. I have yet to physically see the X2. I am hoping it is all that is advertised to be. If it is on isn't I will honestly report my impression and feedback.jlewis

The X2 will not have the same hot lamp problems the 500efi did. They use different fan controllers.
