Default 2006 500 EFI Stall update...

Polaris knows about the stall problem and does not have a fix at this time. They are working on it now. Something to do with the fuel injector motor and a slide not closing properly. (I have know idea what they are talking about). At least they admit there is a problem and are trying to fix it. That is all I know and I'll update as I hear something new. If anyone else knows anything please let us know.

Every couple of days I sit in my brand new 2006 500 EFI and imagine I'm riding it. What a nice dream.

Just my thoughts an no offense to anyone but if I were you I would bend my dealers ear pretty good to get out of your headache and into something else, either an HO or 700. Good luck in any event, they owe you something for your trouble I'd say....

good idea. i asked my Dealer to do just that- to trade for an 800EFI. his response was that "i'd take too much of a bath on my 500EFI."

nice response!

Thanks for the info. This makes my decision harder. I was really planning on picking up a 500 EFI today or tomorrow with the financing/warranty offer they have going. I wonder if I should hold off? Decisions, Decisions.

you may plan a little road trip to Mass to pick mine up if you wish. 43 miles on it. PM me with an offer that would make it worth it to travel all this way. we have two BRAND NEW local hotels for an overnight stay that i will pay for.

Any other dealer options in your area MT ? I'd drive Tenn. if I had to. Bottom line is you need/deserve a reliable machine to ride whatever it is. I'd have to gitterdone regardless, but that's just me.....

I wouldn't do it, not the 500EFI. Any other model but that one right now till they get them sorted out....

Idaho to Mass is a bit longer drive than I'd like to take right now.

CalypsoCowboy,

Why not a 700 EFI instead? Is the extra $900 too much to swing?

the 500 EFI was kind of pushing my budget I think the extra would break it. I was just hoping to take advantage of the 3 year extended warranty, so I guess just see what promotion they come up with next.
