What are the horsepower figures for both and which one is faster? Thanks

 

I`m guessing from memory but I think the the 500 has 32 hp and the 400 has 36 hp if it`s wrong I`m sure I`ll be corrected. I have heard they are very close in top end. I have not raced one so I dont know for sure. Coming from a Warrior you may like staying 4 stroke as I did (I like 4 strokes). The 2 strokes are easier and cheaper to mod though. Also I thought I read in here that you can not buy a new Scrambler 400 4x4 anymore discontinued or something. HTH

I raced my 99 400 scrambler(before I had the pipe and reeds in it) against a 00 500 scrambler and I had the holeshot faster and gradualy pulled away, but not a lot, throught the power band. But when I got the reeds and pipe on it, it was no contest. I took off a lot faster and he didnt even have a chance of keeping up. So for the difference in price you can upgrade you 400 and really make it a fast bike.
