Default Push button 4WD:

Hi everyone,
I am new to the site and it looks great! I have a 1995 Polaris Scrambler 4X4 and it is still running strong. I have a problem with it. When I push the button to engage the 4WD, it only works some of the time and not when I really want it too. Is there a way to fix something like that or do I need to buy another push button mechanism?

Thanks!!

Kevino

Never! Well, not in the 7 years I have had it. Is it an easy task?

thats why, the hubs on the polaris are very sensative to any grime, or lack of any fluid, i would recomend taking to your dealer and have him do it, because on your model the hubs are located in the ball joints, instead of centrally.

or if you want to do it yourself, you can pick up a polaris sportsman service manual for a 95' and try it yourself.

I may try it myself, I am somewhat mechanically inclined. I just didn't think it was a mechanical problem because the light does not light up showing it to be in 4WD. I thought it might be in the switch?

I have a 99 with the same problem. I changed my fluids, but I think I traced my problem to an electrical failure in a regulator under the front cowl. I did a lot of probing with a trouble lite and am certain it is electrical. I dont know what the difference is with your year so I dont know if any of my problem is the same as yours. You can email me if you want to and we can share info, but I havent figured mine out 100% yet,, I just hope the 4x works when i need it the most,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,(like thats going to happen,)
