ITP MUDLITES OR 589"S ??????????
#11
Go with the 589's. I love mine, the do good in mud, good on the logging roads and seasonal roads that I ride. They are not very much heavier than the mud lites and are twice the tire.

On my 800, I have had both, now running 589's, here is the differance, mudlights grip great wear fast on hard surface, lighter but not that that matters, here is where a 589 beats all the others, polaris has only rear wheel engine braking, going down steep hills is hairy, but with the 589's they make the ebs work great, mudlites just locked up and the rear end would slide that is not a good feeling. I have 9's on front and 12's on back, remember 10's on front of a 05 will hit the tie rod ends with any of these tires. the 589's handle great are very agile on tight trails, smooth riding and will last forever, they are so much better on my 800 than the stock, big horns and mudlites that its unreal.

What do you want in a tire first off?
The MUDFLATS as we call them cant handle abuse,Hard surface or deep mud>
The 589"s are tractor tread tire and will go where ever you point them. The deepest mud holes pavement anything at the right presure are a great long term tire.
I stud mine every year for the icefishing and love the rubber compound good all around tire.Dont drive on your lawn though!
A another tire no one really talks about and is not better than a mudlite is the kenda Bear claw I had 25 inch on my old sportsman 500 and they were amazing tire and would go to a 26 inch set of those anyday <2" extra tread deepth>
they had the best side wall protection and climbing technical and rocks were a dream unbeleivable traction! They are as cheap as muds i beleive!
Just my thoughts Givver
Ps i run stock size 589s on my 600
