could bad or loose mounts cause the belt to slip? 95 sportsman 400 2stroke.

what do i need to look for and where?

 

Wouldn't think they'd cause slipping as much as shredding (throws clutch out of alignment). Could be worn belt or sheeves need cleaned. Time for a good inspection on the clutch.

 

brand new belt and secondary buttons. belt seems loose and will atv will not go. all but one shim is left in the secondary so i figured the motor mounts. i visited my dealer and explained the problem. they looked at me as if they were stumped and thought it could be the mounts.

check your offstes and such alignment is critical. if that is good then by process of elimination it must be the mounts
my lower front mount snapped inside the rubber after boring and putting in a brand new kevlar type belt. Get the ones from hpd-inc.com . thats what i run. Hot Seats are the same but last i checked cost more.
