Is there anything available for this machine I have searched high and low - no luck...

AAEN makes a performance exhuast for the 800's modestly increasing the horsepower and torque, and then Hotseat peformance is working on an true dual exhuast

 

what is the configuration now? comes out dual, singles before right side muffler, then splits to the other muffler? where's the split to other muffler, at the first muffler or before it?

 

It actually comes out the side of the first muffler.

 

click here according to Aaen a true dual system caused a loss in power, check it out.

 

1999cobra: See you didn't need our help making your decision the other day. You obviously knew exactly what to buy. Congrats and enjoy, by the way your lucky, you got the toys and cool wife to share them with. I'd like mine to ride but since she don't want to break a nail or mess up her hair, thats not gonna happen. Of course I don't mind riding with my buddies but, since the wife don't like it she sure don't encourge it. So its not always those with the most toys wins, its those with the right toys that win bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. lol

 

Hey Jason, Do you have a K&N filter on yer 800? Was it a worthwhile performance boost?

 

It made a big difference for the price. I only rode the bike twice before switching it out and that was during the break in period, but i took the advise from i think elkbow who said break it in like your gonna ride it so i didn't go real easy on it. I haven't had any problems and she still out runs everything else in the utility class and half the sports. The K&N filter made it take off a lot faster I'm not real sure it did anything for top end. If I had to recomend anything it would definately be the ITP 589s. I lost a little speed but my bike goes through and over everything without hesitation. I just saved money not having to buy a winch. It looks very tough and I heard they last forever.
