How to De-restrict a Road Legal Predator?
Greetings all,
May I take this opertunity to say hello to all of you out there, and may get a question answered at the same time.
I have just purchased a 2006 homologated Road Legal Predator 500, Most of my riding is off road and thus find that I am getting my butt whiped because my Predator is restricted to half of its potential. I believe this is standard practice for road legal quads.
Question is, how do I go about removing the restriction? What have they done to limit the power, and what can I do to ensure that I get what is required for off road use.
Regards sent

How to De-restrict a Road Legal Predator?
Greetings tou you pipe539,
Yeah I live in the UK, we are permitted to use the atv on the road as long as it has passed the test. Polaris now do a road legal version of the Predator for use on the road over here.
I hope that someone has the info I require, thanks for your reply.

well looking over polaris' specs for the Predator Quadricycle, i dont see any difference from the picture visually or from the specs. so i have to assume that if there really is power loss its somewere in the intake, exhuast or the cams. now if i know my American companys right, they will o out of their way to spend as little as possible on changes between models (well any company for that matter) so cams would be out. so there is probebly some sort of aditional baffle in your exhuast to make it road worthy or so. taking your carburator appart and seeing what the main jet (difficult without a impact driver) is. if the main jet is smaller than 150 then there is probebly some restriction in the exhuast or intake area.
good luck
