2006 trail boss
hey buddies how's everyone? hey just want to say hi. so hi all! im a proud new owner of a 2006 trail boss and i'll be going out riding tomorrow monday 26 of march here in socal hungry valley/gorman area. yeah dude the trail i feel is a great machine. have not taken her out yet but i know it's a great atv. compared to other manufacturers this polaris 330 has way more to offer in the price range. you get way more c c's! you get automatic tranny! and you get reverse! for $3,800.00 otd! hey please if there's any tips on the trail boss regarding safety issues or "watch out" do's and dont's it be great to know of it. thanks, respectfully robert

Couldn't get to you soon enough to point out the rear brake caliper is diff. In 03 they gave it a better Cam and bigger Jet too. I think it was 04 that got the fuel guage cap. 05 got the new rear caliper. My center front hood has the air scoops cut out from the factory while my brothers 04 has the scoops closed with molded plastic (seamless as part of hood). The frame is unchanged near as I can tell.
If it's any help, I'll tell you I hated my Pro Armor skid plate. It would high center in the sand when the tires spun in and high center on trees and rocks that I could, and did, otherwise go right over without it. I don't use it anymore.
You can do a search and see where others have had the same experience. I run over anything in my path and can say I have not damaged anything without the skid plate.

Make sure to double check your bolts that you loosen and tighten after you adjust your chain. Check them after the first ride after adjustment. Not to say to over tighten them! And keep the chain clean and tight. Grease your fittings often. Check all bolts you can reach for tightness.
Just be safe. Like don't give it gas when rolling backwards down a steep hill in forward or it may go over. Be careful when doing donuts cause the wheels can grab and tip you or throw you over. You can learn allot from the users manual.
I use a flag while at the dunes.
