2 stroke vs 4 stroke on 96 6x6 Big Boss 400
#1
I have the opportunity to buy a 1996 Big Boss 6x6 for $2500 with a manual lift snow plow. It has about 3,700 miles, but the engine was completely rebuilt by a dealer about 50 hours ago, and the rear axle bearings, chains and sprockets were all replaced. He isn't sure about the belt, but assumes that it was probably replaced also. Rear tires are pretty good, but the front are worn quite a bit. I haven't seen it yet, but I talked to him on the phone. It supposedly has been kept inside in a heated shop, and was primarily used on a farm.
#1 Is this a good price? (NADA says $1,575 to $2,070 as avg low/high retail & KBB says $1,890 trade in and $2,795 for retail. I find that many ATVs seem to sell higher then these prices for some reason, and I usually try to buy something at close to the trade in price)
#2 Any pros/cons to this unit that anyone can tell me about? Suspension or drive train issues?
#3 Is this a good eninge? I generally prefer 4 stroke engines for long term durability, but how is this engine and is it reasonably economical to run? Any known issues or problems?
Thanks for any info anyone can give me!
