Congradulations on getting your son a quad. There is some good advice on here that I highly recommend following. I think there is nothing better than a parent and thier kid(s) out enjoying the great outdoors on an atv. One piece of advice I would like to ad is this...purchase two Chatterbox helmet mounted radios for you and your son. I ride a Rancher and my 4 year old rides 2000 Suzuki LT50. I enjoy being able to communicate with my son while riding. It makes the whole experience that much better. I set his radio on voice activated so all he has to do is talk, and I can hear him. He has enough on his hands without trying to key a radio while riding. The range on the FRS radio is up to two miles, not that he ever gets out of my sight. But Mom likes it because I purchased a cheap set of frs radios at Wal-Mart and now she can listen in back at the house while we are out on the farm. Plus she can tell us when dinner is ready....But seriously, I am a VERY safety concious father, and these radios will bring your experience to a whole new, safer, level. I wish you and your son all the best.....
