Watch out on extended warranty
A guy brought his 05 sp500 in to the dealer here because it had a terrible engine noise, like a bad knock. Dealer tore it down, didn't find anything, reassembled and knock was gone...strange! Well the guy bought the wheeler when they had the free six month extension on the factory warranty last year, dealer turned in to the company and they denied it. They said they would cover if guy could provide documentation of proper maintanance. Well the wheeler had 1500 miles and 200 hours and he didn't have proof he changed oil. So I guess I better keep receipts when I buy oil and filter from now on, because I have that same warranty on my 700.

YEP!!!!!! I trust NO ONE!!!!!!! This is why I buy ALL my oil, filters, grease and drivetrain lubricants at the Polaris dealer while my machines are under warranty.
Yeah, they cost more.
Yeah, that is what they are trying to get you to do.
Are they the same as aftermarket, maybe better, maybe worse?
I don't care.
It doesnt cost that much more and I have DEALER RECEIPTS with dates on them. I document mileage and dates on each receipt and in my owners manual. I got the free 3 year extended warranty deal (30 months actually) and there is no way I am going to be standing there where that guy was trying to explain to my wife how a $10,000.00 machine with a 3 year extended warranty is going to cost me $2000.00 to get out of the shop 2 years after I buy it.
BEWARE!!!!!! The burden is on YOU to prove this. My dad was an auto dealer.........I lived this first hand. People would not take care of any maintenance, drove it like they stole it and then demanded everything wrong with their vehicles 1 week before the warranty was out be fixed. Sometimes the dealers are at fault.........but sometimes the owners are at fault too.
Take care of yours and it will last.
