grind when putting in gear
Thanks Polaris500HO4x4, My idle is aways at 1150. I decided that im just gonna beat the crap out this thing until it either straightens up or takes something out completely. I still have three and a half monthes of warranty left plus the extended warranty which probably isnt worth crap. You had mentioned about the Honda tranny. How much is one from Polaris? Some kind of damage has to come sooner or later from reefing on the shifter trying to get it in and out of gear. Im not trying to pick a fight. Just stateing the facts as i see them.

If you burn your belt i think you can cheap talk your dealer into a free one with the lifetime warrenty if its still under the warrenty... a new clutch is about 300 or so for brand new, a rebuilt clutch rolls in about 100 to 150
if i was you i would take off the belt cover and start the quad and watch how its acting, if the primary clutch is grabbing the belt at idle you may need a shim or 2 in the clutch, 99% of the time your quad will 'creep' beacsue of improper shim set up or allignment of your clutches
as i mentioned above take off the belt/clutch cover and see how shes acting and let us know

Problem with 2006 or 05 magnum 330 4x4
Would you know why my 06 or 05 magnum grinds while shifting it into high and only high. We tried a new thing to help put it into gear but it still does it. Sometime it will go into high but pop back out and make a horrible grinding noise. I've never taken apart a transmission and I don't know how to either. It's an amazing quad, but it's only problem was grinding in high. Once you move it around a bit it will stay in high until you shift it out. I love this machine and I'd hate to have to sell it just because of something that might be a simple fix. If you'd know please tell me what to do, if not I suppose I'll have to drive it as is.
