primary spider buttons
#1
has anyone on here had any trouble with the buttons that go inside the spider? I took my clutch apart the other nite and the buttons are comming apart. The teflon face seems to be twisting apart from the rubber backing. These are fairly new, from EPI and dont have that much time on them. Could this be because the surface that they ride on is worn bad?
Just wondering if anyone makes a severe duty button or not.
Thanks

THe slides need to be smooth or it will wear out buttons fast.If you have wear it would be time for a new clutch you can rebuild (swap parts) because they are balanced as a unit.

Yea, this clutch is pretty worn. I took some emery cloth to the surface of the tower where the button rides, and I also called Darryll at hpd. He sold me some snomobile buttons. He said they are little stronger and dont have the rubber backing. (this is where they are coming apart)

Hey Brad. Did you mean to say that you can't rebuild them? I've tried and it don't work.
