Default 800 EFI Top RPM's?

What should the max RPM's on a 2005 800EFI?
I read somewhere the rev limit was set to 6600 but I'm only seeing about 5900?
Also only has about 6 hours on it...

The throttle plate on my 700XP Ranger was only opening about 80% until I had someone adjust it. Now it is 100% open.

Like most things, Polaris doesn't make things easy.

My mechanic did it for me. He was the guy who predicted that it wouldn't open all the way. He was right.

Is your Ranger 700 and carb or EFI?

All 700 cc Rangers are EFI. Only the older 500s are carbo, with the newer ones going EFI as well.

As for the throttle adjustment, there is *some* adjustment in the cable. He also had to put washers behind the gas-pedal mount (just one per bolt for a total of four). Others will use a roll pin crimped around the cable to take up the slack.

Best thing to do is to check your throttle plate yourself. Take off the hose clamp and remove the boot. Then depress the throttle (on the handlebars for the quad or the floor for the Ranger) and see if it deflects all the way. If you can move it wider, that means you're not getting a full throw.

FIXED!!

It was the K&N air filter. I changed it back to the paper one and it hit 6200+

After reading more I see that the K&N and EFI do not always mix well.
