Default choke problem

I've done a search on this and the results did not help my problem--

My choke is "stuck"-- it will only pull out of the assembly 1/8". I couldn't get the choke out of the carb (I've done this before), but the cable is not jammed in the sheath. I sprayed the choke area with solvent, pulled with various tools, but couldn't break the choke loose of the carb.

Any ideas on how to fix this problem? I could always cut the good choke sheath.. and then get the carb on the workbench and "yank" on the jammed choke more, but I'd prefer not to do that.

any help is apprecated
thanks!

Default choke problem

If it is gummed up, try some spray carburetor cleaner around it to see if it will break up the stale fuel deposits and allow it to come out. Also you may be able to take the cable assembly loose at the top and twist the whole assembly around to different positions and see if it will free up. Good luck, hope this helps.
