Default loose front end on sportsmen

I seen that the lower ball joints in my Sp were loose. The machine has 600 miles and is a 05. I took the cotter pin out and could turn the nut with my finger. The left one had a lot of play until I tightened it up. Any one else have this problem? And also the front struts seem to have a little play on top is this normal. The nut is tightened up all the way.

the play is coming from the top of the strut. Where the rod goes thruogh the frame. It seems like the ruber is worn or the shoulder of the rod is to long so you cannot tighten yhe nut. The washer bottoms out on the shoulder of the rod. If you grab the A arm you can move it up and bown about 1/8 "
