What will 45/40 helix do for performance?

It will more than likely bog the motor due to upshifting to fast. You need a race mod setup to try and run it. It's pretty much an all out drag race helix. Backshifting will not be good.

WI,i'm running a 44-40 HPD helix in mine,engage at 4350 then shift
straight away to across 7600 rpm, race mods engine, only hot seat offer a 45-40 and looking to try one this summer as i can load it even more
and still belt doesn't climb to the very top be pretty close (1/8).
as you motor is stronger it will pull the stiffer angle through the range no problem, clutch weight is a must fine tune thing in this case to still
properly pull hard and determining the proper secondary shim behind the snap ring is very importing also, allowing you to decrease or increase
helix starting angle.

OK, 45/40 helix is out of the question. I need something else because my helix is getting grooved pretty bad and I need new buttons also. I'd hate to put new buttons in just to have the grooved helix ruin them right away. Can I grind down my stock helix to remove the grooves?
