Default 2002 Polaris Strut Problem (Help!!)

I have a bottoming out sound coming from the top of the strut mount. When lift the front up with a jack
and lift up on the wheel and drop it. I can reproduce the same bottom out sound. Anyone have a clue as to what I need to do to fix this? The plastic pivot ball on the top and bottom are not cracked or missing. Any help is appreciated..

Tighten the nut holding the strut assembly on..3/4" nut..and use a small wrench to hold the hexed part of the piston of the strut.

Yea I checked the nut while holding back up with a 3/8 wrench. And it was tight.

Mine has about 1/8 inch. When riding along and the terrain changes a little, like a pot hole or hump in the trail, it makes that bang sound I've been talking about. I can feel it in the handle bars too.

I have a 05 and it is the same way. I took a smal piece of rubber and put it between the washer and the rubber isolator and it took the play out for now and no more noise. The shoulder of the strut is to long and you cannot tighten it up because the washer bottoms out

you have a nut then a metal washer then a rubber washer. go to a dealer and get 2 new rubber washers and try them alone first it it is still there double up the rubber washers. i also replaced the plastic top and bottom pieces on mine it went away
