AWD shuts off after half throttle
We were driving on our frozen lake last weekend when all of a sudden I felt my front tires disengage and started spinning out of control. So I did a test and watched the AWD light after i passed half throttle and sure enough it turned off and I felt it disengage I continued my test for about 45 minutes and everytime I got over half throttle my AWD turned off and everytime I left off the throttle the light turned back on and I could feel the AWD re-engage

The spinning thing sounded like fun. Do you think that the ice had something to do with it? I know that the awd kicks in and out if it sees slipage, and if the wheels wasn't slipping at that point it may have kicked out, but when you started losing control did it try to kick back in, or could you tell with all the excitment? It may be a sensor going bad. Maybe someone can help better.

I was checking a repair manual and take the throttle and AWD switch housing apart and see if the throttle cable is ok and the wire in the switch is not contacting anything, check and make sure the wire is connected good at the switch, may be as you put psi on the throttle it is pulling the wire out. Just some things to check. May be a loose wire.
