Default 4x4 light turns off -4x4 doesn't

I dont know what you guys are talking but on mine if I have 4by4 turned off the back wheels can spin till the cows come home and the front WILL NOT ENGAGE ....AT ALL ....EVER. Now If I switched it to 4by then they will engage right away. I have heard this is a comon problem with the 04.5's and newer since they changed the front drive line set up. If it worked the way You are saying Fire then there would be no need for a four wheel switch at all and You could never do donuts or power slides like I love to do all the time!
Yak, thedon had already had the AWD switch on and turned it off and couldn't understand why the fronts stayed engaged. My statements of "continue to spin" meant after the AWD switch had been turned on and the fronts had engaged as they had in thedon's situation. Yak, I never said that it would engage without the AWD switch being on. I simply started my answer at the point where thedon left off with his question. (AWD had been engaged, all tires in the air, AWD switch was turned off, Indicator light turned off, front wheels still engaged). Having owned and ridden Polaris' for over six years, I know full well how the AWD system operates. Hope this clears up any misunderstandings.
