Default 05 sp 700 EFI burnt insulator

When riding the other day, the machine started missing and the back firing. It would come and go, but finally I had enough and put it away. I put a new set of plugs in it with still the same results. I happen to notice with the side cover off that the insulator tip at the spark plug was white and the spark was grounding to the block. The bike has 30 hours on it and is well cared for. It has never gotten hot. Also the first point at which the exhaust is secured at, the mount was melted. It's still under warrenty and no worries there, but have any of you guys experianced this with your bakes? Perhaps the engine is running to lean?
