Drove my 2000 SP all last winter, never had a problem starting, even in 25 below weather, that choke on the pod is an asset. Nothing ever froze up, but be careful of banging the black plastic fender extensions, I rapped one getting on it last year and it shattered in 25 below weather. Would like to make a set, all 4 actually, out of a softer type of rubber, that will take a bang in colder weather. Told Polaris this, but they gave me an answer like, "The machine is not designed to be ridden in extremely cold weather". Imagine that, from a company that makes sleds. Heck with that I said, and rode mine all last winter. Looking forward to snow with some real tires, not factory slicks, 27" bi/triclaws!

Glad you mentioned it. Have it in the shop with a space heater pointed at it until it quits dripping. Thanks

Just got our first snow last night, 6 to 8 inches. I took my Explorer 500 out today (first time with 4x4 in the snow) It was unbelievable! I never new what fun I was missing! My new Explorer (new to me)seamed to go better in just 2 wheel drive than my Sport ever did, and that was with the stock half bald tires. It's the ground clearance I geuss. But wow was it fun. Now I'm thinking about the hand warmers and windshields every one is talking about....
