Last time I rode, switched on the AWD, indicator icon shows up on display, but front end is not pulling. Haven't heard any noises coming from differential, wires and hoses are all intact and undamaged. Anyone else ahd this problem? Any ideas on the problem?

 

its awd not 4wd so when you turn on the switch the fronts dont just switch on the rear wheels have to slip just a little bit for the fronts to grab and pull thats why you can drive around with it engaged and still be able to turn easily...

 

I do realize that aspect of it, my problem is that when in a mud hole, I only have the rear pulling. The front is not engaging. The front doesn't pull at all.

 

Does your speedo work? Did you check the front diff fluid? If the speedo does not work the awd wont either. If the fluid is low, dirty or over full it will not work. It could also be a bad rollar cage in the front diff.

 

yes, the speedo does work. I didn;t check the fluid yet but I will. Thanks for the advice!

 

just wondering on checking the operation of the 4wd. if you put it on jackstands and throw it in gear will the fronts engage? or do they need to be moving to engage the hubs?

 

If you put it up in the air all 4 should spin when in 4wd.
