I used a jeep wrangler with a 2.5 with a manual pulled a trail with sportsman 400 and 800 and two honda cr250 did ok but was a struggle going up tall inclines. I practiced my nascar skills by drafting big rigs saved big time on gas and power.

 

I pull my scrambler and trailblazer with my '89 Cherokee. The trailer is about 800# and the quads are about 500# and 450#. The Cherokee is a 4.0 automatic. It pulls pretty good and I have some good hills to go up to get to my regular riding area. The Cherokee is pretty light for an SUV and the load weighs about half as much as the Jeep. I have trouble with it bogging down on hills and not dropping down to 3rd gear on its own.

if your looking at buying a Jeep, Rubicons come with Dana 44's front and back stock, and if yoru gonna go wheeling, the best way to spend your money on a jeep aswell!

 

i have pulled my scrambler and predator with my automatic trans in my cherokee 4.0......even with a 2.5 wrangler..should't be a problem at all....my buddy pulled two quads with his 78 chevette!

A 78 chevette! Good little car. Can you beleave they still make cars quite similar.

I've pulled all kinds of weight from diff. size motors but with the manual trany and had no problems. I did go a bit slower naturally on the steep hills.
