Personally i think AC only fits those riders who crave mud and nothing else. I've ridden some of the new ones and they just handle like complete crap compared to my SP. As i said the ride is no where close to Polaris. I think there is a machine out there that does everything better or as good as AC, in the mud i'd say the Polaris 800 could make it through just as much as an AC 700 650 or 500. The MAIN thing AC has going for them is and pretty much the only thing is Tire Clearance (for bigger tires) and their IRS System. And thier new 700EFI is $8,000! Thats horribly priced to compare with the other 700 EFI's. AC has come a long way, but i think they still have a ways to go. JUST IMO.

There is a machine out there that does better than Polaris at everything also, and AC has alot going for them, as does Polaris. AC has Speedrack options, ground clearance, manual diff lock, and Polaris has a smooth ride, better stock tires, and AWD,. But i dissagree on the statement of people who only crave mud. I dont much like the mud. I think the AC has a great quad for rough trails where it has to articulate over larger objects, utility purposes, hunting, and just plain fun. I do agree that Polaris handles, and rides like a caddy. But i disagree that the sp800 will outmud a AC, it has less ground clearance, and is heavier

Maybe your right. But i never said that an SP800 would "outmud" an AC. I said that the Polaris could go through just as much. I know people mod their machines, but i dont see a stock 650 outright, out mudding a stock 800. BTW their isint much weight difference between the two. At all.

But the ground clearance and manual diff lock is a difference. But i cant say who would do better. I have to admit, im a little bias, and my long time friend has had nothing but Polaris, and nothing but problems, which is why he took his sp700 back and is tossing up the idea of AC and The BF. I like polaris, but am bias when it comes to AC, and like it alot more than other brands, because ive had very good luck with AC.

Well thats understandable. One of my best friends has 3 fourwheelers, He himself has an '06 AC 500 Manual, His Dad has a '05 H1 SE 650, and his mom has an '05 AC 500 Auto. And when we go riding we test our quads to the limit, and they have the newer arctic Cats. Anyway i dont think that the Diff Lock is an advantage and this is why. I'd say its an advantage if all you had was limited slip but anyway, It seems EVERY time i find a mud hole with my friend (or whoever im riding with that has Limited Slip 4wd and Locked 4wd) he ALWAYS wants to try the whole in sometimes 2WD but almost always 4WD LS, and then when he realizes he needs the Diff Lock it is almost always too late. I know ALOT of people always say " Well just put it in Locked before you reach the whole." But everytime im with a group they always see what they can do in something else other than locked and that ends up screwing them. The Polaris's AWD System seems to be more efficient in that its a whole lot quicker to motor on through or to get "unstuck" quicker. Anyhow, i've had great luck with Polaris so i will admit that i am bias towards Polaris a bit. As some other people i was told how much Polaris sucked, but after i test drove one i couldnt stand it any longer. And as of now i havnt spent a dollar on repairs and i've put my machine through hell and back. And ground clearance is the most important factor, but sometimes for climbing, the high ground clearance makes the quad really tippy and if im correct the PoPo 800 has 11.75 and the AC 650 has 12.25 .. thats only .50 more, and i dont think that its "that much" of a difference, allthough Every bit helps. My next ATV (which is coming very soon) will be another brand though, so im not tooo bias.

im not so sure, there's so many fourwheelers out there. Im not going to get another Polaris just b/c i already have one. I love so many different things about so many atv's. Im looking at possibly the 500class and up. Maybe the Rubicon b/c of its transmission and i hear next year it will have IRS. Then im thinking about getting a good deal on a '06 Grizz 660 when the new '07 EFI Grizz 700 comes out. Or possibly an Arctic Cat 500 Manual, i think they have a great MSRP for the features it offers. There are so many choices idk. I guess it will all come down to how they feel for me when i test ride them. Personal preference. The Polaris will be my main quad b/c i love it and i've put so many mods on it. The next ATV will be an "extra" but still used for many things.
