Does anyone know what ply rating the OEM Polaris tires are that come on the 2005 Sportsman 800?

I am also looking for a replacement 2005 800 OEM Aluminum rim. *Edited by ATV Connection Moderator*

i wanna say there 5 ply, but i could be wrong

 

there was a rim on ebay

 

My dealer informed me that all Polaris OEM tires are 4 ply. I replaced mine with ITP Mud Lites which are 6 ply. He informed me that was the bes choice for my trialriding with the thorn trees around home.

Unless they have changed for 06 the pxt tires are 3ply.

 

anybody running the xtr's stock tires size on the 800 w/ the stock rim and you having any issuses w/ them

 

No.........but I am running 26"x12" XTRs on ITP Type 7 rims on my 2004 Sportsman. They are 9" wide in front and 11" wide in back.......no "issues".....but I can't speak to using them on the stock 800 rims.......you'll need to check the wheel off-set. I believe my new ITP Type 7 rims are a 4+3 off-set.

These tires handle extremely well. They give nice light steering, tracking and controlabilty. They are a 6 ply, radials and have large lugs so traction/mudding performance is good too. I have only had them for a short period of time (about 40 miles)......but WOW they handle very very nice.

The PXT / ACT/Ducks Unlimited ITP/ Carlilse tires are 6 ply.
