checking compression

Wondering what the proper way is to check compression on a polaris xplorer 400?

Default checking compression
screw compression guage intospark plug hole. Hold throttle wide open and turn over engine. You can use either the electric start or recoil rope. I believe the service limit is 115 psi.

engine also shold be cold for the best reading.
