2006 500EFI Stall update...
#14
I got a reply from polaris and they gave me a 6 mos. extended warr. plus they are still looking into my stall problem. At least they are doing something. I'm happy with the warr and the quick responce from them.

I got a call today from Polaris and again they said they have a fix for the stall. I told him I would give it one more try. Today, I noticed my back wheels have play. If you jack the rear of the quad up, and push and pull the top and bottom of the tire, I have play. Is this normal? Seems like it would cause the bearings to wear fast.

I've got a little over 50 miles and 3.5 hours on my 500. It has only stalled on me once and that was after coming down a short but steep grade and stopping at the bottom. The ebs was on going down the hill (still getting used to giving gas on downhills to avoid this) so perhaps that's what caused the trouble. Since then it hasn't stalled. The RPM's have dipped a little, but only momentarily and almost not noticeable.
I hope Polaris does well by you. I mentioned the stalling issue to my dealer before I bought, and he hadn't heard any complaints from anyone.
Is anyone with the X2 experiencing the stalling?

I have 500km's on my X2 and have had to adjust the ETC switch 2 times to stop it from stalling. It would only happen when I let off the throttle suddenly. If I let off gradually it wouldn't stall. Not sure if the cable stretches a bit when new or if the lock nut just wasn't tight enuf and the adjuster vibrated back a bit. With the cover off of the ETC switch it is easy to see if the contacts are touching, and adjust it.
