I have a 97 scrambler 500 4x4 and I want to take off the stock handle bars and lights. Want to put on low rise handle bars and smaller shorter lights any suggestions for aftermarket lights

 

I have a '02 Scram 4X4 and just put on a set of pro taper bars, (high rise), very nice!!!!! And at least half the weight! Also put on a set of trail tech's Large double isolated lights, got them from trail tech with the welded bulbs, 35 watt floods. They were $55.00 each and the extra bulbs i think were $6.00 each. Nice selection on trail tech.net, Right now i have them mounted on the front bumper where the center plastic is. I haven't decided if i like them there or not. Bottem line is they look awesome. Have not been on a night ride yet, still dealing with clutch issues. Good luck on this, i know i looked at all the auto stores but you run into the 55 watt issue, Scrammy can't handle them.

 

i have some dual 50 watt lights on mine that look similar to trail techs light, and the bulbs are replaceable you can run 20, 35, or 50 watt, im running the dual 50's on my scrammy and they work just fine, way better then the stock ones, i have riden at night and they realy make a difference.

I have stock handlebars but I have aftermarket lights that look like Yamaha Warrior lights but they were on there when I bought it.

 

If I went out to a auto parts store to buy smaller lights would I need to buy only 6 voit lights or will 12 voit lights work.

 

you can put any lights that are 12 volt, your 500 stator will handle any 55watt or below lights....you only need to worry if your running more then two lights of higher wattage, so any light you get at an automotive store will work!
