I've been told that all the plastic is the same for all there models. But what about years? I have a 97 Explorer 500, and have a chance to get 99 Magnum plastic... The dealer say that it will fit, but I noticed that the vent holes an the top left side of the gas tank are in a differant place. Anyone have any insight? I'd realy appreciate it.

The plastic will fit. The vent holes in the plastic are for the belt from what I have been told. The older bikes have it but have not seen it on the new bikes.

 

There is Gen II, Gen III, and Gen IV plastic. I believe all bikes in the same class are inter-changable.
