stripped out axle

I was puttin my axle back in, and when i tightened up the nut it completely stripped out, the nut and axle. I am soo pissed now!

I'm curious Crash.....why did you have the axle out. I'm guessing you had to do a CV boot? Also, which axle?

Do you think it's salvageable with a tap/die or is it wasted?

Ask your dealer to inquire of the factory rep. for out-of-warranty coverage on that axle; insist he ask. I would be pissed too.......unless it was my fault?????

stripped out axle

Well i got my new springs (progressive suspension) and had to take the axles out to put them on. I put the nut on with an impact gun (BIG MISTAKE). I am going to thread it and put a smaller nut on it.
