Time to buy another TOY!

Well its time for a new wheeler and this time its gonna be a sport quad. My first instinctive choice is the standard predator. It has everything i'm looking for in a quad, very fast straight runner and great suspension ergos. My question is though, why would i choose this over my other very favorable choices, the yfz and the trx450r. I've always wanted a yfz from the time they stepped onto the dealer floor but i just think the pred would still be the better choice. I want a bike that is not going to be very hard to be beat in straight drags but will still have the very fun trail factor and just all around pit-rding capabilities. Thanks for any info.

well. here i am, a pred owner, so you know what im gonna say... trail riding on this thing is unblieveable i ride with a friend that has a 416ex with well over 1500 in the motor and another 1000 in suspension/tires..he can't touch me on the trail and all i have is what is in my sig. its crazy.
i will say though that the 06 yfz and 450r are realllllly strong running quads but i will still say that the 06 tld is still the best buy for out of the box performance.
if i were you, id stick with the brand you already have and check out hte pred.
if none of that convinces you...try out the ole outlaw.

tblazer,
Why not the Outlaw? It is smokin the 450's in races. You will see in the spring and summer races that the Outlaw is going to be at the top many times. I just saw one of them woopin up on alot of quads at the track about a week ago. I was very impressed with its performance on the track.

You are missing out on one fourwheeler I see to compare! 700 Raptor Nothing compares to it...has everything! I've had Banshee's,Predator's,450's,etc and the new Raptor is the best. I race at the desert and have a blast 450's and even lightlymodded banshee's can't beat it....and can still trail ride at the same time.....also nice having both electric start and reverse! Thats just my two cents considering I have had all of them.

If you're going to motocross, the 450's are going to be tough to beat. But for trails and cross-country style racing, you'll love the Predator.
I've found that in tight woods the Outlaw & Troy Lee close-ratio transmission works great. On the regular Predator, it's still fast, but I tend to clutch twice as much. For more wide-open riding in desert type terrain or fast trails, I like the regular Predator gear spacing better.
Another thing to consider is reverse...
I know you don't like the look of the Outlaw, it is different. But when you ride one, you might change your mind! It still slides with the push of the throttle, but never hangs up on trail obstacles and doesn't cause near as much fatigue. I think it's going to do to the sport market what the Sportsman did to the utlity market in '96. It may take a few years to catch on, but I think everybody will have an IRS sport quad in the future. Plus, the reverse is really easy to use. The thumb lever is something everyone should have been doing for years, including Polaris on the Predator.
