Default polaris expedition oil

Does anybody know how much oil this quad holds & what type to use? Its a 425 manual clutch model that was purchased used with out any type of owners manual so I have no idea how much to use.

It has been so long since I serviced one of these I do not remember how much they hold but I think it is more than the average quad. Possibly as much as 4 qts.

They did not sell many of these so my experience is limited to one or two over the years.

Since it has a wet clutch you should not use a synthetic. A really good synthetic can make the clutch slip.

Castrol 20-50 is what I use in such a machine in the summer and 10-40 in the winter.

I have a 2002 425 expidtion and it take 5 and a half quarts of oil.

Default polaris expedition oil

You can use a synthetic oil in the xpedition. It came from the factory with synthetic in it and that is what Polaris recommended using.
