So, we went on a trip to Majestic Trails PA last weekend. Needless to say, 20 minutes into the first day of riding, my Scrambler's axle snapped like a twig and the chain smashed a hole in the transmission. Of course, my buddy Mark being right on top of things, took the opportunity to snap a few pictures to document the horrific crash. The four wheeler was left at a repair shop in New York to undergo life saving surgery. The patient should be out of ICU sometime next week and I'll have to make the 4-1/2 hour trek to retrieve it. If you go to our in progress web site; Summit Trail Riders ,and click on the photos link, the first couple of pictures or so show the snapped axle. any one ever experience one of these before?

 

In case any one read that first post too fast, the mentioned patient is the quad. No one was hurt, just my pride. Can't wait to get it back and get out on the trails again. I guess the bright side is that I will have half a new quad. Thank goodness for insurance...don't leave home without it!

i have a few friends that have 03 trailblazers and they BOTH snapped their axles in the exactsame spot within a few weeks of eachother.

all i can think of is that they had a bad run of axles in 03. mines and 02 and has held up fine.

i did try out a durablue axle for about 30 minutes,,,,,, until it snapped like a twig. DONT BUY A DURA BLUE FOR A SCRAMBLER!!!
