bigger gear up fornt and smaller one in back will give you more speed. it sounds like your clutching isnt set up right. when you put a pipe and jet kit, and a filter on your letting it breath more, hence less restricktion and more poines. but if your clutching set up ( springs and weights ) are wrong you may over or under rev the engine loosing that hp you gained. just an idear.

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

The kit you should have is a red/yellow primary spring, gold secondary spring and S58 weights.
Are you sure you preloaded the secondary corectly. We had a TB with this kit and it was awsome but had a dead spot right on bottom. You may want to try the stock gearing too

HPD should ahve a suggested operating Rpm too you need to see where you are @ with wide open throttle while testing top speed. From ther verify that you have all of the right parts, you can also take a sharpie and mark yor primary clutch to see it it's shifting out all of the way just make a bold mark on about an 1 long on the top half of the clutch were the belt rides this will allow you to see how far your belt is riding up in your primary. Rpm's are very crucial though if youn ot @ the right rpm you quad could be making less hp than stk. that is why clutchign is so important when putting a pipe on a 2 stroke.
